Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit (as of Jan 1, 2026):
- Forest Guard/Forester-I: 18 to 40 years.
- Constable/Fireman: 18 to 25 years.
- Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC/MOBC.
- Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Assam.
- Employment Exchange: Mandatory registration with a local Employment Exchange in Assam is required.

Selection Process
The selection is rigorous and consists of multiple stages:
- Physical Standard Test (PST): Height and chest measurements (Qualifying).
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Includes a 3.2 km race for males (14 mins) and a 1.6 km race for females (8 mins), plus long jump.
- Written Test: 100 MCQs (75 marks for some posts, 100 for others). Covers English, Math, Reasoning, and Assam GK.
- Walking Test: Specifically for Forest Guard/Forester (26 km for males / 16 km for females in 4 hours).
- Viva Voce/Oral Test: Final interview stage.
