DDA Recruitment 2025, the syllabus varies significantly depending on whether you are appearing for a technical post like Junior Engineer (JE) or a non-technical role like Patwari.

The exams are currently being conducted in a Computer Based Test (CBT) format. Below are the specific details for these two popular posts.

👷 Junior Engineer (JE) Syllabus (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical)

The JE exam focuses heavily on technical expertise while maintaining a balanced non-technical section.

  • Total Marks: 120 | Questions: 120 | Time: 2 Hours
  • Negative Marking: 0.33 marks per wrong answer.

Technical Section (80–100 Questions)

  • Civil: Building Materials (cement, bricks, steel), Surveying (leveling, theodolite, GPS), Soil Mechanics (bearing capacity), Hydraulics, RCC & Steel Design, and Estimating & Costing.
  • Electrical: Basic Electrical Engineering (Ohm’s/Kirchhoff’s laws), Electrical Machines (Transformers, Motors), Power Systems (Generation/Protection), and Measurement & Instrumentation.
  • Mechanical: Thermodynamics, Strength of Materials, Theory of Machines, Fluid Mechanics, and Manufacturing Technology.

Non-Technical Section (20–40 Questions)

  • Reasoning: Analogies, Syllogism, Blood Relations, Coding-Decoding.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: Percentages, Ratio & Proportion, Profit/Loss, Interest, and Time & Work.
  • General Awareness: Current Affairs, Indian History, Geography, and Science.
  • English: Vocabulary, Grammar, and Sentence Correction.

📜 Patwari Syllabus (Stage-I & Stage-II)

The Patwari recruitment involves a two-stage selection process.

Stage-I: Preliminary (Screening)

  • Pattern: 120 Questions (120 Marks) in 2 hours.
  • Subjects: 1. General Awareness: National & International events, Indian Constitution. 2. Arithmetical & Numerical Ability: 10th level Mathematics. 3. General Intelligence & Reasoning: Verbal and non-verbal reasoning. 4. Language Proficiency: Hindi and English Comprehension. 5. Basic Computer Knowledge: Hardware, Software, MS Office.

Stage-II: Mains (Merit-Based)

  • Pattern: 200 Questions (200 Marks) in 2 hours.
  • Special Focus: This stage includes a critical section on General Awareness with special emphasis on Delhi (History, Culture, Geography, Demography, and Administrative setup of NCT Delhi).

📂 Quick Tips for Preparation

  • JE Candidates: Focus 70% of your time on the technical core as it carries the highest weightage and determines your rank.
  • Patwari Candidates: Master the “Delhi-specific General Awareness” for Stage-II, as this often separates the top scorers.
  • Computer Literacy: Don’t ignore the basic computer section; it is mandatory for almost all Group B and C posts.
