3. Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Indian Citizen (or subjects of Nepal/Bhutan).
- Age Limit:20 to 27 years (as of October 1, 2026).
- Note: Candidates must be born between October 1, 1999, and September 30, 2006 (both dates inclusive).
- Educational Qualification:
- Candidates must have passed a B.E. / B.Tech degree in the notified engineering streams.
- Final Year Students: You are eligible to apply provided you can pass your degree by October 1, 2026, and produce the degree certificate within 12 weeks of the training commencement.
4. Selection Process
Since there is no written exam, the process is highly focused on your graduation percentage and personality.
- Shortlisting: Applications are shortlisted based on a cut-off percentage of marks obtained in your engineering degree (up to the 6th semester for final year students or all semesters for graduates).
- SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates receive a call for the 5-day SSB process at centers in Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar.
- Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a thorough medical fitness check-up.
- Final Merit List: Prepared based on SSB marks only.
5. Salary & Benefits
Selected candidates are commissioned as Lieutenants.
- Stipend during Training: ₹56,100 per month (at OTA Chennai).
- Rank on Commissioning: Lieutenant (Level 10 Pay Matrix: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500).
- Training Academy: Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.
- Training Duration: 49 Weeks.
