2. Tentative Vacancy Details (22,000 Posts)
While the zone-wise breakup will be in the detailed PDF, the indicative department-wise vacancies are:
- Track Maintainer Grade-IV: 11,000 Posts
- Pointsman-B: 5,000 Posts
- Assistant (S&T): 1,500 Posts
- Assistant (C&W): 1,000 Posts
- Other Assistants (Bridge, P-Way, Workshop): 3,500 Posts
3. Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: 10th Pass (High School) OR ITI from a recognized institute (NCVT/SCVT) OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC).
- Age Limit (as of Jan 1, 2026):18 to 33 Years (General/EWS).
- Relaxation: OBC-NCL (3 Years), SC/ST (5 Years).
- Medical Standard: Varies from A2 to C1 depending on the specific post.
4. Selection Process
- Computer-Based Test (CBT): 100 Questions in 90 minutes (Science, Maths, Reasoning, GA).
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
- Male: Carry 35kg for 100m in 2 mins + Run 1000m in 4 min 15 sec.
- Female: Carry 20kg for 100m in 2 mins + Run 1000m in 5 min 40 sec.
- Document Verification (DV) & Medical Exam.
5. Mandatory Aadhaar Update Warning
The RRB has strongly advised candidates to update their Aadhaar Card immediately.
- Your Name and Date of Birth on your Aadhaar MUST match your 10th Class Certificate 100%.
- Ensure your latest photo and biometrics (fingerprint/iris) are updated at an Aadhaar center to ensure smooth verification during the exam stages.
