✅ Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the following criteria as of January 01, 2026:
1. Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)
- Minimum Age: 15 years
- Maximum Age: 24 years
- Age Relaxation is applicable as per Government rules: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 10 years for PwBD candidates.
2. Educational Qualification
- Must have passed 10th Class (Matriculation) or its equivalent (under the 10+2 system) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (excluding additional subjects).
- Must possess an ITI Pass Certificate in the relevant trade from a recognized industrial training institute affiliated to NCVT/SCVT.
🛠️ Selection Process
The selection for RRC SER Act Apprentices is based purely on merit, without a written exam or interview.
- Merit List Preparation: The primary selection will be based on a merit list prepared by taking the simple average of the percentage marks obtained by the candidate in both:
- Matriculation (10th Class) (with minimum 50% aggregate marks).
- ITI Examination in the relevant trade.
- Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates (usually 1.5 times the number of vacancies) will be called for Document Verification.
- Medical Examination: Candidates will undergo a prescribed medical examination as per Railway standards.
Note: In case of a tie in marks, the candidate who is older in age will be preferred. If dates of birth are also the same, the candidate who passed the Matriculation exam earlier will be considered first.
